During the stressful days of the Google ban, a nightmare which lasted almost four months last summer, probably no one gave more support to this blog than Damian Bennett. This old friend of the 21-year-old blog kept my spirits up, planned tactics and strategy, helped write letters —indeed penned most of a couple all by himself — and created posters at Behance. I thought I knew about all the posters, but to my surprise, I discovered that he had in fact made double as many, for a planned online petition, the final trio thankfully never proving necessary.
Incidentally: Google hasn't stopped all its shenanigans. The very post on No Pasarán which announced the return of this blog in mid-September has mysteriously vanished. (I am not sure whether challenging that would be a good idea, not wanting a repeat of last summer's headaches.)
May of this year Google, which owns and hosts Blogger — without notice or explanation — disappeared the ¡No Pasarán! blog. Immediately Owner/Publisher Erik Svane appealed, repeatedly. The appeals went nowhere so he began an awareness campaign to have the longstanding blog reinstated, to which I contributed.
