Another Problem with Illegal Aliens Is That Even the "Law-Abiding" Ones Have Never Been Taught to Respect Road Rules or, Indeed, How to Drive in the First Place

A great problem with numerous illegal aliens turns out not to be murderers, thieves, scammers, and rapists, but simply "law-abiding" people from countries where there is little respect for road rules (or rules in general, when the population knows that laws are a scam) — certainly not in the Western sense — and therefore, few attempts to teach citizens to drive responsibly.

This, in my opinion, was the main problem with Ohio's "undocumented immigrants" from Haiti — not cat-eating per se but driving erratically, whether under the influence or not.

As Gigachad Brick pointed out (Dhanyavaad to Instapundit's Sarah), when he recalled that he

Talked to my dad about the Florida jeetcrash and he had some interesting things to say about it. He said that it was bound to happen, and to understand it you need to understand the culture of driving in India.

Whenever he visits India, he refuses to drive for a reason.

India has some of the most dangerous roads in the world, and it all has to do with the collective cultural view of driving.

Indian drivers are extremely selfish and their one goal is to get where they're going as fast as possible. It doesn't matter to them how they do it.

… one of the reasons gridlock is so terrible in India [is] because no driver gives another any room to move.

… And that's how the Florida jeetcrash happened. An illegal Indian immigrant brought his selfish, inconsiderate Indian driving mindset to the US, a mindset that claims thousands of lives every day in India.

I really can't believe they gave this creature a CDL.

A Danish friend of mine worked for the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization, first in Cambodia, later in Sri Lanka. Part of the contract was she was not allowed behind the wheel in Asia — ever — and had to get a local chauffeur (driver and car provided by the United Nations). While I visited her, I think it was in Colombo, the contract proved far-sighted when a bus pulled up next to her car, and tore up the left side of her (of her chauffeur's) car.

Another story I remember features Europe — but I guess I was part of the problem. While in college, I had to take a plane out of Rome, and to avoid the taxi taking unnecessary detours to steepen the fare, I pretended that I was late for my flight. That cab ride! Oh, that cab ride! He sped through Rome like a maniac Schumacher, driving on the opposite side of the road, bypassing lines on the right-hand sidewalk, etc etc etc… Suffice it to say that we got to Rome's airport well before the plane was due to take off (and without an excessive fare).

From his korokistani dungeonGigachad Brick goes on to note that

Over the last 20-30 years libtards tried to prove that everyone from every corner of the world is exactly the same through mass immigration, but all it managed to prove is that our differences are 99% of the time a vast, irreconcilable ocean.

Funny that.

What is the Democrat message?

asks John Kass (thanks to Glenn Reynolds and also to Sarah Hoyt).

Do they even know?

Is the Democrat message pure Jacobin hatred for anything pro-American and anything that could be considered pro-President Donald Trump?

… The aforementioned Instapundit's blogfather goes on to link Bravo Blue's John A. Lucas quoting Judd Garrett's What's Important:

Today Judd Garrett posted an article on Substack that, at least for me, is a must-read. I will link and summarize it briefly and will then add a reflection from my own experience. Judd’s article is here: What's Important - by Judd Garrett. Here are some excerpts to whey your appetite:

There is a lot of talk, speculation and fear mongering surrounding what Donald Trump has been doing since he was inaugurated in January. He is starting a trade war; the tariffs are on, they are off, they are back on again; the stock market has been very volatile; the jobs numbers were not great; we don’t have a peace deal in Ukraine; there isn’t a ceasefire in Gaza; all of our hostages are not home yet; maybe we are sliding into a recession. Democrats are claiming that Trump voters are having buyer’s remorse.

. . . . The approach to illegal immigration is a touchstone issue for me when I am evaluating a President and his administration’s performance. Under Biden, illegal immigration was at an all-time high and now less than two months into Trump’s administration, it is at an all-time low. Why is this such a defining issue? It tells me how much our President cares about the country or how much he is actively trying to destroy our country. Joe Biden was actively destroying the United States of America by not only flinging our southern border wide open and inviting the rest of the world to come in, he was actively flying plane loads of illegals to the interior of the country with pre-paid debit cards, cell phones, essentials bags and housing lined up at taxpayer expense.

That was all designed to destroy the United States as we know it. The PHDs and engineers from other countries were not coming en masse; the uneducated, the unskilled, the criminal aliens, the drug smugglers, the gang members were the ones who came. Everyday under Biden our country was getting worse and worse, regardless of what the economic indicators were saying, and it was all done intentionally which made me believe that every other decision that the Biden administration was making was intended to harm our country or at least was not designed to make our country better. Everything that was done by the previous administration was done to help ensure permanent Democrat power in Washington for decades to come and if that meant destroying the country in the process, so be it.
